Department Chair Brad Kisner Featured Speaker at ASID Design Summit

Brad Kisner, department chair for Harrington’s Communication Design Program is a featured speaker at the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) Design Summit scheduled for Tuesday February 27, 2007. Kisner’s presentation entitled, “Creating a Brand Experience Through Effective Communication Design”, is part of the professional development series.

Located on the 8th Floor Exhibition Center of the Chicago Merchandise Mart, the event combines three popular ASID Illinois Chapter programs into a day of networking, education, and interaction with design industry suppliers and professionals. Design Summit is open to all ASID members and non-members, design students and educators, and design industry vendors.

The process of Interior Design employs creativity and graphic communication skills. Harrington College of Design's Bachelor of Fine Arts in Interior Design Program is designed to develop these skills through problem-solving in two-dimensional and three-dimensional media. The student is challenged to develop critical thinking, conceptualization, and spatial visualization abilities. These skills can form the foundation for both hands-on and digital design and communication tools, which are integrated with an understanding of the interior environment in the design studio.......................................
