Hello High School Student!

Do you have that creative edge?
If you have a vivid imagination, get great ideas in unexpected places, or just love hanging out with creative people, you may want to start thinking about a future in a creative career. It’s not too early – no matter what grade you’re in.

Harrington College of Design is a great place to start.
We offer innovative programs in interior design, digital photography and communication design, with schedules to fit your lifestyle. You can learn hands-on alongside practicing professionals who are dedicated to your success. Your classes are project based so you can learn by doing, just like you would on the job.

A vertical campus in a vibrant, exciting city.
Our campus is centrally located in downtown Chicago. We’re within walking distance, or a short commute by bike or public transportation, of so much to see and do, including inspiring architecture, photography and design studios, museums, galleries, shopping, restaurants, clubs, sports, parks, and the famous and fabulous lakefront with sandy beaches, volleyball, biking and jogging paths. Chicago has it all – including a large population of college students and young working professionals living (and having fun) in the surrounding area.

Housing and financial assistance
While there are no dorms on campus, we provide sources for affordable, semi-furnished housing options within 10 miles of the college near recreational areas and convenient public transportation.

All of our students receive tuition planning assistance, and financial aid is available for those who qualify; but it’s also a good time for you to do some research on grants and scholarships that you may qualify for. Here are just a few online resources that can help you get started:

Sketch of living room interior
The process of Interior Design employs creativity and graphic communication skills. Harrington College of Design's Bachelor of Fine Arts in Interior Design Program is designed to develop these skills through problem-solving in two-dimensional and three-dimensional media. The student is challenged to develop critical thinking, conceptualization, and spatial visualization abilities. These skills can form the foundation for both hands-on and digital design and communication tools, which are integrated with an understanding of the interior environment in the design studio.......................................
