As your senior class is nearing graduation, you want them to be aware of all their options for college. For creative students, Harrington College of Design presents a unique educational opportunity. We aren’t a typical college, but rather one that provides a career-focused education in ways that engage our students. We’ve been doing that for over 75 years. Our professors are working professionals immersed in the creative industry and ready to share their expertise and "real-world" insights with students.
At Harrington:
- Individual expression meets collaborative learning.
- Real-world learning rules.
- Chicago is your classroom.
- We're focused.
- Students can learn to think design.
Workshops can help prepare high school students for life after high school.
During senior year students are faced with making important decisions about their future. Harrington College of Design can help. We offer in-class workshops on topics such as interviewing skills, scholarship availability, and business ethics. You can choose from 8 workshops, or we can create one based on a topic you feel is relevant to your class. Each workshop takes approximately 1 hour and is intended to enhance seniors’ interest in their future as we inform them about possible creative careers.
There are several ways the workshops can benefit you and your students regardless of their college or career plans:
- Seniors experience an outside voice reinforcing what you are teaching in the classroom.
- These informative sessions explore material and subjects you may not have time to cover.
- Interactive presentations engage students in conversations about their future.
- Speakers arrive early and are available to stay for the whole day, freeing up your time to grade papers!
