(Chicago - November 20, 2003) - - Kathleen (Kat) Budrean, 32, of Flossmoor, recently joined the Harrington College of Design as human resource manager. She is responsible for creating the human resource department with a focus on aligning human resource services with the college’s strategic plan. This includes developing an overall performance management system and philosophy, creating various human resource processes, working with managers on employee relation issues, as well as recruiting, hiring and taking care of benefits.
"Within one year, Harrington’s enrollment went from 1,200 students to 3,000, which has expanded our staff by 30 percent," says Patrick Comstock, president of the school. "This created a need for professional human resource management."
Prior to joining Harrington, Budrean worked in human resource management at Draft Worldwide and Frankel, both marketing agencies. Budrean attended the University of Illinois at Chicago and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in psychology.
The Harrington Institute of Interior Design is a four-year college that offers flexible scheduling for a bachelor of fine arts degree in interior design, an associate of applied science degree, a diploma program and a kitchens and bath certificate program.
Founded in Chicago in 1931, the Harrington Institute seeks to foster an environment that maximizes students' intellectual and artistic potentials. The majority of the faculties are practicing interior designers, architects and fine art professionals. Harrington is accredited by the National Association of Schools of Art and Design, and the BFA program is accredited by the Foundation for Interior Designer Education Research. Harrington is also recognized by the Illinois Board of Higher Education.
