HARRINGTON COLLEGE OF DESIGN PROMOTES McRORIE

For Immediate Release

Michelle McRorie, 35, of Chicago, has been promoted to director of inside admissions at Harrington College of Design.

McRorie, began her career at Harrington in 2001 as an adult admissions representative. In her new position, she will be responsible for the hiring, training and development of new admission representatives. McRorie also will be responsible for coordinating a solid "stitch in" process to improve the school’s show rate and marketing.

"From the beginning, Michelle had what it took to be a leader," says Wendi Franzyk, vice president of admissions. "She will be a great addition to the training team."

Prior to joining Harrington, McRorie worked for Advance Medical Resources as an account manager. She graduated from Youngstown State University with a bachelor’s degree in organizational communications and a minor in marketing.

The Harrington College of Design is a four-year college that offers flexible scheduling for a bachelor of fine arts degree in interior design, an associate of applied science degree, a professional diploma and a kitchen and bath certificate program.

Founded in Chicago in 1931, Harrington seeks to foster an environment that maximizes students intellectual and artistic potential. The majority of the faculty are practicing interior design, architecture and fine art professionals. Harrington is accredited by the National Association of Schools of Art and Design, and the BFA program is accredited by the Foundation for Interior Designer Education Research (FIDER). Harrington is also recognized by the Illinois Board of Higher Education.

The process of Interior Design employs creativity and graphic communication skills. Harrington College of Design's Bachelor of Fine Arts in Interior Design Program is designed to develop these skills through problem-solving in two-dimensional and three-dimensional media. The student is challenged to develop critical thinking, conceptualization, and spatial visualization abilities. These skills can form the foundation for both hands-on and digital design and communication tools, which are integrated with an understanding of the interior environment in the design studio.......................................
