Student Support
The Student Services Department at Harrington College of Design has students’ needs in mind. It serves as a direct liaison with Harrington students and assists students with everything from CTA U-Passes, academic tutoring options, student organizations and planned social events.
Student Housing
Harrington College of Design has partnered with RnR Real Estate to help students with housing in the Chicago area.
- Dormitory-style housing. A shared living experience, typically, a two-bedroom, two-bathroom furnished apartment is shared among four students. Each student has his or her own lease for the term that includes the cost of basic utilities. Pets are not permitted in the dormitory-style residences. The residences are located within a 10-mile radius of the college and are close to public transportation. The dormitory style residences are chosen based on their proximity to the college and other services.
- Independent referral. Independent referrals are available, free of charge, to all prospective Harrington students who do not wish to have roommates or who seek married housing. Apartments are available in a variety of Chicago neighborhoods. Students who choose this option will lease from the apartment building directly and will be responsible for all utilities. Pets may be accepted depending upon the individual terms of the apartment complexes.
Career Services Assistance
Current students, graduates and alumni all benefit from the continuing support of Harrington's Career Services Department.
- Job search workshops to help students write resumes, build portfolios and prepare for interviews
- Assistance in locating part-time positions for incoming and current students and non-publicized opportunities for graduates
- Careers Web site and on-line Career Expo connect candidates with employers across the United States, Canada and Europe

| The process of Interior Design employs creativity and graphic communication skills. Harrington College of Design's Bachelor of Fine Arts in Interior Design Program is designed to develop these skills through problem-solving in two-dimensional and three-dimensional media. The student is challenged to develop critical thinking, conceptualization, and spatial visualization abilities. These skills can form the foundation for both hands-on and digital design and communication tools, which are integrated with an understanding of the interior environment in the design studio.......................................
